About Me

Hello, I’m Fiona and I’d like to thank you for visiting my Profile.

Sometimes managing our daily lives can seem an uphill struggle.  When this happens, having the time to be with someone to explore your difficulties is very important.  One of the wonderful benefits of counselling is that it can help identify the obstacles to change and by identifying the small changes we can begin to make big changes in our lives.

I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor trained in Person-Centred Counselling and Transactional Analysis (TA).  These two branches of therapy mean that I offer both a supportive, empathic, non-judgemental presence and it also means we can establish and work towards real, achievable goals.

But sometimes we just don’t know why we are feeling down, or have low self-esteem or keep finding ourselves in the same negative situations and relationships with others. TA is clever and it is exciting with its simple understanding that we all have a resilience and determination to strive for and to fulfil our potential.  So whether you know what the problem is or not, I will offer you a kind, caring and safe space within a trusting and supportive therapeutic relationship and we will work at your pace to gently and relationally explore your difficulties and together we can make sense of them.

I have over 20 years’ experience in working with children, young people and adults for Barnardos and Mencap and have also worked voluntarily within schools and youth clubs for many years.

As a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists I uphold their Ethical Framework for Counselling Professions giving you the confidence and knowledge that I will work professionally, ethically and safely with you.

I attend 2 hours’ Supervision each month with a registered UKCP CTA Supervisor.

I have private indemnity insurance and hold a current Disclosure Barring Certificate.
