New Service to Expand the Options Available to People Seeking Therapy and Counselling in Hull and East Yorkshire.

AN INNOVATIVE new mental health service is set to launch in Hull on 19th November 2019. Space2BHeard is a Community Interest Company that aims to expand the current provision of psychotherapeutic services in Hull and the surrounding areas. It is currently based at the Ellesmere Centre for Psychotherapy and Training on Holderness Road but plans to move into new, more centrally located premises later this year. The Ellesmere’s Director of Training, Kathie Hostick explained,

The demand for counselling and therapy has increased over recent years to the point that it makes sense to restructure our services in a way that will keep the quality of client experience at the very centre. Although the Ellesmere will continue to provide training in Counselling and Psychotherapy, all client facing services will run separately on a not-for-profit basis. We hope that people will find the new service easy to access and to navigate and that the range of options available will expand to meet the growing need.

Services currently available include the Depression and Anxiety Service ‘Let’s Talk’, ‘Valued Minds’ an affordable counselling and psychotherapy service and ‘Re-Mind’ a service for people suffering with long term pain and/or fatigue conditions such as Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia.

Current services can still be accessed via the Ellesmere Centre, however, a more streamlined referral process is available from Tuesday on the Space2BHeard website or (T) 01482 705023, (E) hello@s2bh.org.

S2BH’s Director of Business Development, Hayley Jackson said,

We are passionate about developing innovative, quality and accessible services to the people in our local communities. Our aim is to expand upon the excellent services already provided by our partners in the sector and to develop new services where there is a need in the community.

Space2BHeard CIC is holding a public launch day on Tuesday 19th  November between 11am and 8pm at the Ellesmere Centre, 861 Holderness Road, Hull and we welcome interest and enquiries from potential partners and members of the public who would like to find out more about what we can offer.
